Mandarin Steak Salad with Sesame Ginger Dressing

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
- 1 pound cooked beef sirloin steak, thinly sliced
- kosher salt (to season steak)
- 3 tablespoons butter
- Small bag of mixed salad greens lightly packed or fresh spring mix
- 1/2 cup of matchsticks carrots
- Small can of Mandarin oranges (drained)
- One small red onion
- ½ cup glazed pecans
- Cracked black pepper (to season steak)
- 2 fresh garlic cloves (Fresh Garlic)
- Rosemary sprigs
Dressing
- 1/2 cup olive oil
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
- ½ tablespoon minced garlic
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 teaspoon teriyaki sauce
- pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon ginger powder
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk all the dressing ingredients together or if you have a mason jar; add all the ingredients together, secure the lid tightly and shake well. Set aside for later.
- Pat the steaks dry and sprinkle both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and swirl in 1 tablespoon of butter when the pan is hot.
- Add two steaks to the hot pan and cook for 8 to 9 minutes, flipping every 3-4 minutes, until the steaks are well-browned, and the internal temperature reaches 150°F (or above) on a meat thermometer.
- Transfer the seared steaks to a platter to rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing.
- While the steaks are resting, add the mixed greens, carrots, red onion, candied pecans to ?????. Whisk the salad dressing again and pour in about half INTO WHAT???.
- Slice the steaks against the grain into ¼-inch strips. Add them to the salad.
- Divide salad mix among plates for your family: top with steak, carrots, red onion, mandarin oranges, & pecans. Serve with vinaigrette.
